Original Medicare includes Part A for hospital care and Part B for medical services like doctor visits and outpatient care. It doesn’t have an out-of-pocket maximum so many add supplemental plans for extra coverage.
Medicare Supplement plans, or Medigap, help cover out-of-pocket costs like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance not covered by Original Medicare.
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are all-in-one alternatives to Original Medicare, offering hospital, medical, and often prescription drug coverage. Many plans include extra benefits, but may have provider network restrictions.
